SINCE 2015, THE CAROLINA KNIGHTS BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION HAS BEEN EMPOWERING YOUTH THROUGH THE GAME OF BASKETBALL. FOUNDED BY U.S. ARMY VETERAN JOHN BUTLER, OUR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION IS COMMITTED TO FOSTERING PERSONAL GROWTH, TEAMWORK, AND SPORTSMANSHIP IN AN INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT WHERE EVERY CHILD—REGARDLESS OF FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES—CAN THRIVE. WHO WE ARE
JOHN BUTLER, A PROUD VETERAN WITH 22 YEARS OF MILITARY SERVICE, COMBINED HIS LIFELONG PASSION FOR BASKETBALL WITH A DEEP DESIRE TO GIVE BACK TO HIS COMMUNITY. INSPIRED BY HIS OWN JOURNEY AS A PLAYER—FROM YOUTH LEAGUES TO MILITARY TEAMS—JOHN ENVISIONED A PROGRAM THAT WOULD OFFER CHILDREN OF ALL BACKGROUNDS THE CHANCE TO SUCCEED, BOTH ON AND OFF THE COURT. TODAY, THE CAROLINA KNIGHTS STAND AS A TESTAMENT TO THAT VISION, PROVIDING A SUPPORTIVE, INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT WHERE NO CHILD IS TURNED AWAY DUE TO FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES.
SINCE ITS FOUNDING, THE CAROLINA KNIGHTS HAVE ACHIEVED REMARKABLE SUCCESS, INCLUDING WINNING NUMEROUS TOURNAMENTS AND CHAMPIONSHIPS. IN 2024, WE PROUDLY BROUGHT HOME THE NATIONAL TRAVEL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION (NTBA) NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, CEMENTING OUR REPUTATION FOR EXCELLENCE, HARD WORK, AND COMPETITIVE SPIRIT.

As a nonprofit organization, we are deeply committed to creating opportunities for boys and girls aged 12-18 to thrive through the game of basketball—regardless of financial circumstances.
